Thank you, God, for this bountiful feast,
for blessings that surround,
and burdens eased.
Thank you for family and for friends–
for their companionship
on which we depend.
Beyond these gifts
which are easier to view,
we’re thankful for the Holy Spirit
who makes us new.
We’re thankful for Jesus,
for his sacrifice erasing sin’s debt,
and for your promise to believers–
eternal life conquers death.
May you find us grateful every day,
even when tough circumstances
come our way.
Remind us to persist and earnestly seek
your generous goodness
when we feel weak.
Every blessing we see, feel, and believe
comes from you, Faithful Father,
as grace received.
Help us recognize
gifts we are prone to forget,
and may we never take for granted
your assurance
our needs shall always be met.
In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen
